- Carmine, Copyright (c) 2026 Safdar Hussain, MIT, inspected commit `a930caf1bfa9d4235d78fbfa10ce5093bd506b1a`. [Repository](https://github.com/safdar-hussain1/carmine), [retained MIT text](/licenses/Carmine-MIT.txt). `src/color-lab.js` adapts its TypeScript sRGB/CIELAB primitives; `src/lab-shader.js` extracts its GLSL conversions and tint operation. TypeScript annotations and unrelated products/gloss code were removed. The surrounding eyebrow contour mask, contrast gate and no-lightening policy are Efrat prototype adaptations, not upstream Carmine parity claims.

MIT permits use, modification, distribution and commercial use while retaining copyright and permission notices. Apache-2.0 permits commercial use under its terms, including retaining the license and applicable notices, marking modifications, and its patent/trademark provisions. These software licenses do not imply endorsement by their authors.

The test photograph depicts NASA astronaut Eileen Collins. Source: scikit-image v0.19.3 `skimage/data/astronaut.png`, originally NASA's Great Images database. [scikit-image provenance](https://scikit-image.org/docs/stable/api/skimage.data.html#skimage.data.astronaut) identifies it as public domain with no known copyright restrictions. It is an engineering test fixture, not a client result, endorsement or promotional photograph. The app crops and enlarges it for a face close-up; this does not add original hair detail.

No Google fonts, stock brow textures, paid SDK, external analytics, remote image-analysis API or account system are used by the prototype.
